The candidate will join Blackstone’s Legal and Compliance department in Hong Kong/ Singapore and support its businesses throughout the region. Blackstone has offices across Asia Pacific including: Hong Kong, Mumbai, Singapore, Tokyo, Sydney, Shanghai, Seoul and Beijing. The work will be compliance related with a focus on reviewing marketing material prepared for investors and third-party distributors against global regulatory requirements as set out in the firm’s global procedures

More specifically, the successful candidate will:

  • Assist in the review of marketing materials, due diligence responses, investor communications and other fundraising and reporting related materials across various investment strategies from a global regulatory and compliance perspective

  • Provide support relating to materials responsive to existing investors’ legal and compliance-related requests

  • Assist in maintaining internal global policies and procedures and current regulatory guidance with respect to marketing material

  • Develop educational materials and training for business professionals with respect to global marketing and fundraising regulations and protocols

  • Assist in assessing current and prospective regulatory risk through industry interaction and research

  • Assist with other day-to-day legal and compliance matters if/as needed

  • Developing and implementing policies, procedures and controls in response to regulatory drivers and business changes

  • Coordinate with the business and other divisions across the firm on new initiatives

  • Liaising with Blackstone’s global offices as a member of a global, integrated marketing material review team

  • Ad hoc projects to further legal and compliance initiatives within the firm

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would possess:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 6+ years legal, compliance or internal audit experience at an asset manager or other financial institution

  • Excellent written and spoken English and Mandarin required

  • Strong analytical, issue-spotting, and problem-solving skills

  • Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workflow, thrives in an environment with multiple responsibilities

  • Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization, including senior management

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft applications including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
