Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced lead engineer to design and implement solutions focused on our trade lifecycle functions across Credit. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded hands-on engineer passionate about delivering quality software on a Python stack. With deep numerical fluency and a pragmatic engineering approach, this role leads by example—partnering with stakeholders and guiding teams to deliver high-quality financial software across Operations and Front Office Technology. The candidate will have proven skills in independently owning the full software development lifecycle, working with business colleagues and project managers to understand the problem statement, and delivering quality solutions on time. They will have the aptitude to quickly learn and embrace new technologies and proven methodologies to build and deliver solutions on time. The candidate must be comfortable working in uncertain environments, learning new concepts quickly, and be able to adapt to changing priorities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and build software interacting directly with our data infrastructure, Python front office applications and Java Operations stack.

  • Provide hands-on technical leadership in architecture, design, development, code reviews, quality assurance, observability, and product support.

  • Fluency in modern tools, Python, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, and Java to contribute across the firm’s technology stack.

  • Participate and contribute to design discussions and code reviews.

  • Adapt quickly to shifting priorities and manage multiple concurrent initiatives

  • Build positive relationships with other team members, collaborate, and communicate effectively to reach successful outcomes.

  • Strong desire to learn and establish expertise in the investment management domain

  • Set the example and provide technical direction to a team of developers.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or closely related field

  • 9+ years of hands-on development expertise with a strong emphasis on Python and event-driven architectures.

  • Demonstrated interest or experience in investment management and trading

  • Passionate about learning emerging application development methodologies and tools.

  • Proven experience in coursework or personal projects relevant to economics, data science, finance, or trading

  • Numerical fluency demonstrated by previous roles, studies, or personal projects

  • Ability to quickly learn emerging technologies and strong desire to stay current

  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools such as GitHub, GitLab, or Azure DevOps

  • Familiarity with Event-based architectures using RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Azure Event Hubs

  • Microsoft Azure experience is a plus

Pay Range

$190,000 – $250,000

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
