HarbourVest is seeking a proactive and relationship-focused Client Service Associate to join our Client Experience team. In this role, you will partner with Account Managers and cross-functional teams to serve as a primary contact for institutional investors, ensuring timely, high-quality responses to daily inquiries across all fund types and accounts. HarbourVest’s institutional clients include public and private pensions, endowments, foundations, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies and health service organizations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop a strong understanding of all aspects of the client journey within private markets asset management including onboarding, capital calls, distributions, reporting, and portfolio reviews. The position also includes working closely with specialist teams across the firm including investment, solutions, accounting, treasury, tax, legal, compliance, and marketing. Along with Account Managers, the Client Service Associate will be the face of HarbourVest to clients and will be required to demonstrate strong relationship building and client management skills.

This position will be a hybrid work arrangement.

What you will do:

  • Develop and maintain strong, trust-based external and internal relationships through listening, understanding, and appropriately responding to clients’ needs
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver on client requirements and ensure excellent client experience
  • Assist Account Managers with existing client engagements by providing insight to daily activities and assist with ongoing client meetings and conversations for existing clients
  • Find opportunities to enhance the client experience and service delivery
  • Participate in projects impacting the team and firm

Education Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with strong academic credentials

Experience:

3-5+ years of Client Service or Operations experience

Investment management, financial services, or private equity experience preferred
