The Asset Servicing team provides operational support to various Funds, Separately Managed Accounts and Portfolio companies managed by Apollo, a leading global alternative asset management company. Functional responsibilities will include end to end operational support for Asset Servicing events including event detection, monitoring, processing, and event settlement.

We are looking for an individual with experience in processing lifecycle events for loan assets (syndicate loans, revolvers, delayed draws, etc.) and bonds as well as helping facilitate any necessary settlement resolutions. You will have the opportunity to engage and collaborate within Operations, Finance, other internal groups and various external parties. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills with the ability to work efficiently with collaborators at all levels.

Primary Responsibilities

We are seeking a analytical self-starter individual to join our Investment Operations team in New York for Asset Servicing Operations. The candidate should be dedicated, capable of working independently and within teams, hands-on with experience in working in a sophisticated and fast-paced environment. This includes the ability to highlight inefficiencies and areas of improvement to drive scale. A strong and inherent risk demeanor is also required to raise issues or concerns.

  • Processing lifecycle activity for various loan types (syndicated, revolvers, delayed draws, private corporate and commercial real estate loans), bonds, equities, derivatives, etc. This includes the processing of loan notices received for events related to paydowns, interest, coupons, delayed draws, revolvers, PIK, and cashless rolls.

  • Complete ownership and accountability of processes assigned. This includes data maintenance and timeliness of activity processing with adherence and evidencing of controls.

  • Responsible for reviewing and actioning the daily reconciliation of cash, position, and accruals and assisting in resolution of any settlement exceptions.

  • Partnering and collaborating with various internal collaborators including (but not limited to) Middle Office to assist with any fund needs, Securities Master team on asset setup and lifecycle activities, and our Reconciliation team on break resolution, and Business/Legal colleagues.

  • Work with our external Trustees, Custodians, Prime Brokers, Agents to resolve pending event settlements or exception discrepancies.

  • Booking restructures, bridge/commitment fees, and loan amendments .

  • Updating process documentation and able to evidence controls and calculations.

  • Responding to queries and taking complete ownership of the lifecycle event processes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors/Master’s degree with focus in Operations/Finance/Accounting is preferred

  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience.

  • Product knowledge exposure to private and public assets:

    • Bank Debt and respective facility types; term loans, revolvers, delayed draws, etc.

    • Commercial Real Estate loans

    • Public Funds

    • Corporate Bonds

    • Credit Default Swaps

    • Foreign Exchange (FX)

    • Equity/Options (listed and otc)

  • Proven understanding of finance (P&L/NAV/etc.)

  • Strong work ethic and shows initiative and deep desire to learn and strengthen individual abilities.

  • Ability to optimally prioritize workload. Someone who encourages continuous improvement.

  • Must be detail-oriented and can work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word) is required.

  • Experience with VPM, and WSO is a plus.

  • Strong written/verbal ability to concisely articulate complex issues and requirements to colleagues across departments in the firm.

  • Self-motivated and proactive individual with strong organizational skills.

Pay Range

$85,000 - $100,000

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
