Tactical Opportunities (Tac Opps) is Blackstone's opportunistic investment platform. The Tac Opps team invests globally across asset classes, industries and geographies, seeking to identify and execute on attractive, differentiated investment opportunities. As part of the strategy, the team leverages the intellectual capital across Blackstone’s various businesses while continuously optimizing its approach in the face of ever-changing market conditions.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Analysts will work closely with the investment team on sourcing, due diligence, and executing investment opportunities. This is an opportunity for a strong performer who has experience with financial analysis and research through other experience. The ideal candidate should possess resourcefulness and thoroughness in conducting analysis across markets and industries; ability to work independently and be highly curious; good project management skills with the ability to multi-task; and strong written, presentation, and oral communication skills.

  • Build complex financial and valuation models

  • Assist in preparation of investment memorandums for the investment committee

  • Perform due diligence and financial analysis across a very broad range of asset classes, business types and investment types (equity / preferred equity and minority / control)

  • Conduct research on companies, industries, and asset classes

  • Conduct interviews with industry experts and management teams

  • Assist in the execution of transactions

  • Monitoring and driving further value on existing portfolio companies

Qualifications:

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who work well in a team-driven working group, are highly motivated, intelligent, have sound judgment and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of investment banking, private equity, or management consulting experience

  • Excellent financial modelling and excel skills

  • Ability to understand business drivers and market with common sense is essential

  • Excellent report writing skills, including advanced Word and PowerPoint skills

  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently

  • High motivation and attention to detail

  • Entrepreneurial and a team player
