Overview of Position

The Property Accountant will report to the Vice President, Accounting and will play a key role in the full-cycle accounting for Greyspring’s residential portfolio. This includes overseeing day-to-day financial operations, coordinating monthly and quarterly reporting, and supporting the annual budgeting and forecasting processes. This role will work collaboratively with all other teams at Greybrook, including Property Management and Asset Management, offering the opportunity to gain a deep understanding of the financial underpinnings of our multifamily real estate portfolio.

 

Greyspring is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual with a proactive mindset and a strong sense of initiative. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in residential property accounting, strong proficiency with accounting software (Yardi is an asset), and organizational skills.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the full cycle accounting (AR, AP, bank reconciliation) for residential properties.
  • Preparation of GST/HST remittances.
  • Preparation of bank reconciliations.
  • Preparation of monthly journal entries: GPR, Prepaid, accrual.
  • Preparation of cash projections and requests of funding as needed.
  • Preparation of monthly reports packages and perform analysis of monthly operating variances and account analysis.
  • Prepare year-end audit packages and working papers, liaison with auditors.
  • Other projects as assigned.


Qualifications
  • Must have a least 1 year of relevant residential property accounting experience.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field.
  • Bilingual skills (French and English) would be an asset.
  • Experience with Yardi would be an asset.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and attention to detail skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work in team and a self-starter working in a fast-paced environment.
