This position will be a hybrid work arrangement. You will receive 18 remote workdays per quarter to use at your discretion, subject to manager approval. For example, you may choose to work in the office 4 days per week and take one remote day weekly (typically 13 weeks per quarter), leaving 5 additional remote days to be used as needed.
Within our Portfolio Construction & Allocation team, the Portfolio Associate will support the investment teams in areas focused on the raising and investing of capital, portfolio monitoring, as well as improving our business operations. This role will have exposure to a wide range of activities including portfolio construction and investment allocations, fund management, portfolio analysis and reporting for both commingled funds and separately managed accounts, as well as ad-hoc internal or client-specific requests. The role will also serve as a liaison with other internal departments including Investor Relations, Client Experience, Solutions, Accounting, Treasury, Tax, and Legal/Compliance, in addition to other strategy Portfolio Operations teams in Boston, Dublin, London, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Please note that this role is not focused on sourcing and evaluating investments.

Portfolio Related: Prepare, maintain, and present (where applicable) materials for internal and external quarterly portfolio reviews and updates
Fund Related: Prepare portfolio construction and allocation materials to be presented to HarbourVest Committees, analyze fund capacity, reserves, investment allocation, and investment performance
GP-Specific: Participate in investment group discussions in relation to the evaluation of commitments
General: Leverage data, create templates, and maintain standardized / recurring analysis to support strategy team metrics
Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement initiatives to improve business activities and help address investment team needs through the use of technology
Client Service: Prepare, maintain, and present (where appropriate) materials for HarbourVest’s existing clients, including fund updates, portfolio updates, data room management and ad-hoc analysis

Background in Private Markets preferred
Proven problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Strong attention to detail
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, DealCloud, and Intralinks
Bachelor of Arts (B.A) or equivalent experience
Bachelor of Science (B.S) or equivalent experience
3-5 Years of relevant experience in Finance or Accounting capacity preferred

Salary Range
$79,000.00 - $111,000.00This USD base salary range represents only one component of total compensation for this role and is provided in accordance with local requirements. This role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, which is determined based on individual and overall firm performance. In addition to salary and bonus, total compensation may include eligibility for long-term reward programs and a comprehensive total rewards package that may include retirement, health, insurance, paid time off, and wellness programs. Our total rewards offerings are influenced by several business factors, and eligibility for certain components will vary by position and geography. Please note the posted ranges do not apply outside the U.S. and should not be converted to other currencies as a proxy for compensation in other countries.
