Bain Capital Credit has a world-class team of over 100 investment professionals with extensive experience analyzing and managing credit investments.

We are seeking a Sector Head at the Vice President or Director level to join our Credit team in Boston. This individual will be responsible for leading coverage of the software sector.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead a team that analyzes, evaluates, and monitors investments across our strategies.

  • Conceive and execute in-depth industry, competitive, and financial analyses in order to formulate and test differential investment hypotheses

  • Perform company and industry research: visit company management, do field research (with customers, suppliers, and others likely to have unique insight into a company’s or industry’s fundamentals), and attend appropriate industry/Wall Street conferences

  • Make proactive buy/sell recommendations and communicate investment views effectively with appropriate team members

  • Identify and evaluate attractive investment ideas, primarily in the public markets, but also selective private market investments

  • Manage the workload, responsibilities and development of analysts/associates.

Qualifications:

  • Strong academic credentials and a demonstrated track record of successful work experience

  • 6+ plus years of professional experience ideally in an investment management firm, investment banking, sell-side research, public or private investing, and/or management consulting role

  • A fundamentals-driven, “bottom up” investing style with strong analytical/modeling capability

  • Experience interacting with and assessing senior management teams; demonstrated relationship-building and networking skills

  • Ability to anticipate and identify company, industry, and market developments and support insights with research and analysis

  • Excellent communication skills; able to synthesize complicated analyses concisely and to articulate insightful conclusions compellingly. Open to spirited debate over ideas.

Compensation:

Expected Annual Base Salary $200,000 – $275,000

Actual base salary will be determined by a wide range of factors including but not limited to role, function, level, experience, qualifications, and geographic location. In addition to a competitive base salary, this position may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based upon factors such as individual impact, team and firm performance.
