Position Summary

We are seeking a Director-level compensation lead to own and evolve the firm’s carried interest and co-investment programs from a Human Capital Management (HCM) perspective. This role will be responsible for program design, eligibility, governance, and allocation frameworks across multiple funds and products, working closely with fund heads, firm leadership and cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities 

Carried Interest Program Management

  • Manage carried interest programs across multiple funds and products from an HCM perspective, including program design, eligibility rules, vesting, forfeiture, and leaver treatment frameworks.
  • Responsible for allocation models across different funds
  • Partner with fund heads and executive management on carry allocation philosophy and outcomes, ensuring alignment with performance, retention, and compensation objective
  • Provide allocation inputs to Finance to support carry waterfall calculations, valuations and distributions
  • Lead or contribute to special projects related to carry, including new product launches, structural changes, system implementations or firm-wide compensation initiatives.

Governance, Committees & Executive Partnership

  • Prepare materials for Executive and Compensation Committees covering carry allocations, program design, and compensation considerations
  • Support decision-making on employee remuneration by providing clear analysis, recommendations, and risk considerations related to carried interest
  • Ensure carry programs operate in line with governance standards and internal compensation frameworks

Co-Investment Program Management

  • Manage the co-investment program across all funds and products from an HCM perspective, including co-investment guidelines, eligibility rules, and ensuring alignment with firm reward strategy
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, and Tax to ensure co-investment elections, funding, and reporting processes operate smoothly
  • Responsible for managing the enrollment process for each fund, including system management and review of elections in line with program guidelines

Market Analysis & Program Design

  • Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to assess the competitiveness of carried interest and co-investment programs
  • Recommend enhancements to carry and co-invest programs, including eligibility, vesting, and forfeiture provisions to support attraction and retention of talent

Legal, Finance & Tax Partnership

  • Partner with the Legal team to develop and maintain carry and co-invest program guides, FAQs, and participant-facing documentation
  • Work closely with Tax on carry and co-invest-related tax reporting, disclosures, and regulatory considerations
  • Coordinate with Finance on all aspects of carry program management to ensure allocations are accurately reflected in carry waterfalls and reporting, and co-invest elections are accurately tracked by the Fund admin team

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, HCM, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification a plus
  • 8–10+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years of progressive experience in carried interest, executive compensation, or investment-related reward roles
  • Strong understanding of carried interest structures, program design and management
  • Experience working with senior executives and reward or remuneration committees
  • Advanced Excel modeling skills required; experience with Anaplan and/or PowerBI a plus
  • Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with HCM, Finance, Legal, Tax, Payroll, and other stakeholders
  • High attention to detail, strong judgement, and ability to manage complex, sensitive information
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex equity and incentive concepts for non-technical audiences
  • Experience in private equity, alternatives, or asset management strongly preferred
