Position Overview
AASP Management, an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Apollo Management Holdings, manages asset-backed warehouse facilities and other structured finance assets, with a focus on credit risk across securitized products. It also serves as the sole risk manager for Atlas SP Partners, a leading securitized credit platform formed from the former Credit Suisse Securitized Products Group.
Now operating independently,, Atlas is backed by a diverse set of institutional capital partners, including Apollo-managed funds. The firm combines deep structured credit expertise with scalable capital and global strategic partnerships to deliver high-quality, investment-grade financing solutions across the full spectrum of structured credit.
This is a high-impact, hands-on opportunity to lead and drive Atlas's top strategic priority: establishing, operationalizing, and institutionalizing scalable risk management across its dynamic, growing platform.
As the primary support and execution partner of AASPs Chief Risk Officer ("CRO"), you will establish the infrastructure, processes, and governance
across ATLAS Credit, Market, and Liquidity risk. You will lead cross-functional risk initiatives, manage portfolio oversight and analytics, and ensure seamless execution of time-sensitive and enterprise-critical deliverables.
This role is ideal for a highly effective strategic leader and builder who operates with urgency in fast-paced, evolving environments; brings clarity and direction to ambiguity; exercises sound judgement and full ownership; and thrives on creating and scaling structure where none exists.
Success in this role requires fluency in financial risks, strong operational leadership, and the ability to design and implement agile, effective risk governance in a fast-scaling business. The successful candidate must also be able to lead cross-functional initiatives and consistently deliver at the level expected by executive leadership as well as external and enterprise-wide stakeholders.
Translate the CRO's strategic direction into clear, actionable execution plans that ensure cross-functional alignment.
Own and drive top-priority initiatives ("what matters most"), whether standing up a new risk framework, addressing investor requests, leading remediation plans, or developing a reporting package.
Drive and sustain momentum on high-stakes deliverables, often in areas of ambiguity: create clarity and direction, facilitate cross-functional coordination, ensure timely follow-through, synthesize insights, and proactively identify and escalate potential or emerging blockers.
Build, enhance, and operationalize ATLAS SP risk governance, ensuring alignment with growth, strategy, and risk appetite.
Develop and maintain enterprise risk policies, limits, tolerances, and escalation protocols.
Partner with the ATLAS COO team to manage and refine enterprise-wide risk committee processes, ensuring materials, policies, and approvals are aligned with regulatory expectations and executive-level standards. Lead post-approval follow-up and track conditions such as sell-downs and other contingencies.
Analyze risk trends, emerging issues, and cross-functional interdependencies; synthesize insights into high-quality deliverables for critical decision-making across investor, Board, rating agency, and internal leadership forums.
Lead initiatives to strengthen stress testing, recalibrate risk appetite, and support portfolio oversight.
Partner with Technology and Risk Analytics to lead the design, build and roll-out of risk dashboards, including portfolio “views”, for executive leadership, external stakeholders, and the Board. Own risk content to increase transparency into portfolio trends, themes, and drivers.
Lead high-priority projects and facilitate cross-functional risk alignment in collaboration with Origination, Treasury, Finance, and Legal.
Partner within ATLAS to integrate risk metrics into business planning and performance.
Monitor and advance the reporting of early warning indicators, portfolio-level risk exposures, and counterparty concentrations.
Success Profile & Expected Impact
Reliable, high-quality execution of critical initiatives with limited oversight.
Proactive identification and resolution of emerging risks and gaps with sole ownership of the identification and implementation of solutions.
Recognized as the “go-to” for urgent, unstructured, and cross-functional priorities.
A trusted partner to the CRO and a respected collaborative across teams.
Qualifications & Experience
8+ years of experience in risk management, strategy, or a related function.
Proven ability to build and scale fit-for-purpose risk governance and oversight mechanisms in a dynamic, fast-growing business environment.
Demonstrated ability to shift seamlessly between strategic planning and tactical execution.
Fluency in financial risk concepts and frameworks; prior exposure to structured credit, and/or specialty finance highly preferred.
Highly organized, intellectually curious, and resourceful, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Exceptional communicator with a strong bias for action and the ability to influence and manage up and across all levels.
