This position will be a hybrid work arrangement. You will receive 18 remote workdays per quarter to use at your discretion, subject to manager approval. For example, you may choose to work in the office 4 days per week and take one remote day weekly (typically 13 weeks per quarter), leaving 5 additional remote days to be used as needed.
The Cloud Engineer is an IT specialist who constructs and maintains cloud infrastructure and solutions. Their duties include cloud devops, implementation and administration; as well as working on traditional IT infrastructure as we migrate on-premises IT resources to the cloud over the next several years. This person is responsible, as part of a team, for the automation and administration of Infrastructure and Platform Services in multiple regions of Microsoft’s cloud service, Azure. Ideally, they will have experience working in a cloud environment as part of a global financial services company.
In a multi-region support model, the Cloud Engineer will assist in application development and data project teams in resolving urgent and complicated technical issues by combining their automation skills, in-depth product and technical knowledge with their understanding of the needs of our clients and end-users. They accomplish this by working on active cases, automating repetitive tasks and encouraging timely resolution of urgent problems while adhering to strict security and regulatory guidelines.
This role would be ideal for a person from a traditional IT infrastructure who wishes to transition to a fast-growing Hybrid-Cloud environment; as well as a person from an Azure/AWS environment looking for a company with a long record of stability, excellent benefits and rapid growth. In either case, this person is a critical component of a small team that will make a big impact on the company’s future success.
Tasks
Automate the deployment of virtual machines, databases and application services in a highly available, hybrid-cloud environment using Bicep templates.
Work with teams to automate, manage and interconnect data-focused services such as Synapse, Machine Learning, Datalake, Databricks, Datafactory and Purview with data from sources such as SQL and CosmosDB.
Work with teams to automate, implement and manage application services such as App Service Environments and API Management services using Bicep templates.
Automate secure, high-performance virtual networks using Bicep templates to support scalable workloads in Azure environments.
Evaluate the on-premises IT infrastructure to identify cloud migration options.
Ensure smooth operation and security of the Company’s CI/CD environment and associated repos.
Manage cloud environments in compliance with the organization’s security policies.
Implement and manage secure Snowflake–Azure integrations, including inbound and outbound data flows with encryption, private endpoints, and firewall rules.
Perform disaster recovery and configuration management tasks.
Configure and maintain Power BI connectivity to Azure and on-premises resources, ensuring secure data transfer via gateways, subnet delegation, and RBAC.
Skills and Abilities
Proven experience securing resources in a cloud network environment. This includes data-at-rest resources such as SQL, Cosmos or MongoDB, storage accounts, key vaults, or Event Grid. It also includes enforcing secure protocols such as TLS over SQL, HTTPS and SFTP.
Strong understanding of hybrid-cloud networking, WAN concepts, and firewalling.
Strong demonstrated ability to script in any relevant environment: BASH, Bicep, PowerShell, Python, or SQL.
Proven experience with Snowflake integration in Azure, including networking, security components (VNETs, NSGs, Private Link), and data governance.
Strong knowledge of Power BI architecture, data gateways, and secure connectivity to Azure and hybrid environments.
An understanding of operating secure databases (Cosmos and SQL) in the Cloud and on-premises. Includes the ability to grant and maintain roles, perform backups, and secure through various third-party tools.
An understanding of DevOps concepts, tools, and procedures. This Includes CI/CD and pipelines, Git repos, Bicep, build agents and approval gates.
Demonstrated expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining Azure infrastructure using Bicep templates, including modularization, parameterization, and best practices for secure and scalable deployments.
Strong Linux (Redhat and Ubuntu) – and Windows -- understanding and expertise.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

Bachelor of Science (B.S) or equivalent experience
Experience Preferred
4 or more years working in Infrastructure, Network Engineering or DevOps role. This should include significant experience in Azure, AWS or similar cloud environment.

Salary Range
$100,000.00 - $160,000.00This USD base salary range represents only one component of total compensation for this role and is provided in accordance with local requirements. This role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, which is determined based on individual and overall firm performance. In addition to salary and bonus, total compensation may include eligibility for long-term reward programs and a comprehensive total rewards package that may include retirement, health, insurance, paid time off, and wellness programs. Our total rewards offerings are influenced by several business factors, and eligibility for certain components will vary by position and geography. Please note the posted ranges do not apply outside the U.S. and should not be converted to other currencies as a proxy for compensation in other countries.
