Job Description:

This position will work with High Yield (HY) and Investment Grade (IG) portfolio managers and the broader trading desk to execute in the primary and secondary markets, understand portfolio needs, and generate investment ideas.

While the primary focus will be HY and IG trading, there will be an expectation to trade treasuries, municipal bonds, and CDS.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Communicating market and trading color to broader investment discussions with portfolio managers, research analysts and other traders
  • Tracking spreads and other market data for portfolio managers and research analysts
  • Identifying relationships across markets and potential trades that arise from those relationships
  • Building upon relationships with existing Wall Street sales / trading / syndicate desks
  • Backing up other traders across loans, high yield, municipals, private placements, and distressed credit

Qualifications:

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who work well in a team-driven working group, are highly motivated, intelligent, have sound judgment and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.

The successful candidate should meet the following qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • 2+ years of trading experience in credit trading
  • Existing sales and trading relationships are preferred
  • Proficiency in trading platforms: Bloomberg, MarketAxess, TradeWeb and TruMid
  • Effectively manages multiple tasks on the trading desk
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage both internal and external business relationships
  • Strong sense of teamwork, ethics and professional accountability

Expected annual base salary range:

$125,000 - $160,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation and benefits offered in connection with the role consist of comprehensive health benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and FSA benefits; paid time off; life insurance; 401(k) plan; and discretionary bonuses. Certain employees may also be eligible for equity and other incentive compensation at Blackstone’s sole discretion.
