The Brydon Group is a Washington D.C.-based private equity firm that partners with outstanding mid-career executives to acquire business-to-business (B2B), business-to-government (B2G), and healthcare software and services businesses. Brydon is currently investing out of its Fund III which closed in July 2025.
ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role you will work directly with CEOs-in-Residence (CIRs) conducting searches in healthcare IT / healthcare SaaS, vertical SaaS, and tech-enabled services. Your primary responsibility will be to support CIRs in their proprietary sourcing efforts—identifying, qualifying, and advancing investment opportunities through targeted outreach.
This role requires strong research, communication, and organizational skills. You will leverage Brydon’s sourcing technology and CRM systems, but you will not be responsible for managing or overseeing these tools. The position is hands-on and fast-paced, offering significant exposure to the deal sourcing process and direct collaboration with senior leadership. This is an Independent Contractor position.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Proprietary Deal Sourcing
- Research and build targeted company lists within HC IT, healthcare SaaS, vertical SaaS, and tech-enabled services sectors.
- Support CIRs in developing and executing outreach campaigns to prospective acquisition targets.
- Track and manage outreach activity and responses within Brydon’s CRM and outreach tools.
- Draft and refine outreach communications to prospective business owners and executives.
- Analyze sourcing data and surface insights to improve targeting and outreach effectiveness.
CIR Support
- Work closely with assigned CIRs to align sourcing activity with sector priorities.
- Provide regular updates on outreach status, pipeline progression, and responses.
- Anticipate CIR needs and proactively prepare materials and information to advance discussions with target companies.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a business-related field (e.g., marketing, sales, economics, finance, management).
- 1–2 years of professional experience preferred; new graduates with strong credentials considered.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to draft compelling outreach materials.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly understand industry dynamics.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple outreach campaigns and priorities simultaneously.
- Familiarity with CRM and sales engagement platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Zoominfo, HubSpot, Grata) a plus.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-moving environment.
LOCATION
- Expected to work on-site in The Brydon Group’s Washington, D.C. office with flexibility based on project needs.
ENGAGEMENT TERMS
- This is an Independent Contractor position.
- Compensation will be structured as an hourly or monthly retainer, commensurate with experience.
- Contractor is not eligible for employee benefits (health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, etc.).
- Expected to work on-site in The Brydon Group’s Washington, D.C. office with flexibility based on project needs.
